What's Good???
Good Morning!!! Tuesday Gratitude Practice is here!!! How will you take what you are grateful for through the rest of your day? This isn't just about writing it down and sending it back… put it out there! Let the world feel your appreciation! Let's make a difference.
This only takes a few moments to do but gives to you for much, much longer. So put down whatever you are doing and take a couple of minutes for yourself. Every Tuesday morning I am going to ask you to write down 5 things that you are grateful for and email them to me (keep for yourself as well). What are you feeling gratitude around? Here are mine for this week:

There are no right or wrong answers. It is about what you are grateful for. It is proven that doing this once a week for three months (actually just 9 weeks) makes you happier, healthier, exercise more and less sensitive to perceived slights. You will sweat the small stuff less and focus on what really matters.
So… what are you waiting for???
Food for thought:
Most people believe in mistakes. I am not most people. I believe that everything is as it was destined to be. Yes, destined. There is the fact that I believe destiny is infinite possibility, all of which are either more of what you want or less of what you want. When you receive less of what you want as a result of a decision you made you consider it a mistake. When you get more of what you want out of a decision you call it "the right choice." I get it, most folks would consider not getting what you want a mistake, as if what you wanted was destined, or supposed to happen. Sometimes the things we want the least are exactly the things we need for parts of our world that don't exist yet. There are a lot of inventions that have come about due to mistakes; some examples are the slinky, penicillin, chocolate chip cookies, potato chips, the pacemaker, silly putty, post-it notes, x-rays, just to name several. Maybe mistakes have taken a bad rap, maybe what is supposed to happen is what actually happens, not what we want to happen.
What if everything was as it should be? What if there was NOTHING wrong? What if you couldn't make a mistake? Well, you can't unless you want to. You have to make a decision about whether something is a mistake or not. Whatever the outcome of your decisions, actions, etc. is all happening for your souls benefit. Most often we don't think on the level of what our soul would want (and honestly most don't think about their being levels of themselves), let alone make sure we see our "errors" as possible necessities for growth. Look back on your life and find five "mistakes." What came, or is still coming from those experiences. When you accept that decisions don't always mean you are going to be happy with the result, and that is less about you getting what you want and more about you allowing in what you need, you are less likely to make mistakes.
I, personally, don't make mistakes. All the peaks and valleys in my life have been so key to who I am today. My life wouldn't be mine without every single detail that I have lived… and I LOVE my life. I give appreciation to the challenges and the joys, the successes and the woes. Life is colorful and unpredictable. When you are faced with something that you would rather not be faced with, that you want to run and hide from, that you might begin to feel shame around or judge, stop. Stop and shift your perspective. Ask yourself what you would do with this moment if it had been what you wanted? Ask yourself what you need to glean from this experience as it stands? When you can fully open yourself and allow fluidity where there was rigidity, joy and happiness become your baseline.
Mistakes are for those who don't accept the true beauty of life. Let the worn out idea of things being wrong go and begin to see all that is right in the world and your life.
