What's Good???
Good Morning!!! Tuesday Gratitude Practice is here!!! How will you take what you are grateful for through the rest of your day? This isn't just about writing it down and sending it back… put it out there! Let the world feel your appreciation! Let's make a difference.
This only takes a few moments to do but gives to you for much, much longer. So put down whatever you are doing and take a couple of minutes for yourself. Every Tuesday morning I am going to ask you to write down 5 things that you are grateful for and email them to me (keep for yourself as well). What are you feeling gratitude around? Here are mine for this week:
Tuesdays.
Beginnings.
Working Out When You Want To Do Nothing.
How My Rug Looks After Vacuuming.
Documentaries on Spirituality.
There are no right or wrong answers. It is about what you are grateful for. It is proven that doing this once a week for three months (actually just 9 weeks) makes you happier, healthier, exercise more and less sensitive to perceived slights. You will sweat the small stuff less and focus on what really matters.
So… what are you waiting for???
Food for thought:
We all get overwhelmed. I do. Being overwhelmed is a blessing in the world of Aina. It tells me that I am putting too much energy in things that don't exist, that I am not in the present moment. It is a reminder that I am slipping away from my goal and walking away from my joy. When we feel like we are dealing with more than we can handle we aren't being honest with ourselves. We are simply looking at our lives with a filter that allows the feeling of being "overwhelmed" to come to the surface. We are given nothing we cannot handle.
When you connect with the feeling of having too much on your plate or being swamped you are connecting with an idea that you are alone, no help, buried under things that you must get done or else. There are always ways to get what you need accomplished, they just may need you to look at them in a way you haven't before. Write a list of your "to do's" so you can see what may need your attention first. Then let it go. Start with what you can do and move on to the next. Only look at what is needed now and let go of future or past. Cut out judgment of when it should or should not have been done. And, when all else fails to make you feel better, dance. Put on some music and dance or sing.
We can be pretty dramatic, it is a part of being and that is what it is. Enjoy your feeling swamped like you cannot get out from under the things we have made up in this world to be stresses. It is the imaginary land we have created and we can create a new paradigm if we'd like to. Honestly, the only things you need are sustenance and human connection. You will be fine without the rest. If each and every one of us stopped taking things so seriously we would all be happier. If what we focused on was the moment and we did what we could do in the moment we would all figure out the rest. So worry less, dance more and you will get it done.
