What's Good??? 1.14.14

Good Morning!!! Tuesday Gratitude Practice is here!!! How will you take what you are grateful for through the rest of your day? This isn't just about writing it down and sending it back… put it out there! Let the world feel your appreciation! Let's make a difference.

This only takes a few moments to do but gives to you for much, much longer. So put down whatever you are doing and take a couple of minutes for yourself. Every Tuesday morning I am going to ask you to write down 5 things that you are grateful for and email them to me (keep for yourself as well). What are you feeling gratitude around? Here are mine for this week:

Change.
Body Camp.
My Friends.
Being 39.
Twitter.

There are no right or wrong answers. It is about what you are grateful for. It is proven that doing this once a week makes you happier, healthier, exercise more and less sensitive to perceived slights. You will sweat the small stuff less and focus on what really matters.

So… what are you waiting for???

Food for thought:

Many of us spend an inordinate amount of time wondering if we did the right or the wrong thing. So much of our lives is spent seeking approval from one another. We learn at an early age that we get positive reinforcement for pleasing someone else, we begin learning co-dependence as soon as we are born. Our parents send us energy that is either high vibrational or low vibrational depending on how we behave. We are programmed to serve the emotional needs of others, and that others need to tend to for themselves. By the time we are adults, we have never truly felt the feeling of self-care as a true love. Most of our understanding around self-care, as we grow up, is that it is selfish and self-centered to take care of yourself; or it is what you do when someone dies, you have a breakdown or some other tragedy.

Though most of what we know is misguided, we can get clear and closer to our divine nature quicker than most think. It starts with recognizing that you are everyone else. Not in the literal sense, but in the literal sense. :) What you do for you you do for others. My taking care of me impacts others directly and immediately. Not in the way that my putting on clothes that make me feel yummy means that others start doing that straight away, no, not that kind of direct way. The energy changes and no one is immune from energy. Energy travels a lot faster and farther than the image of me walking down the street in my new outfit, feeling all good. The joy I have for my present state ripples out and touches those I intend to touch and those I know nothing about.

When you are looking for someone to tell you that you have done a good job, ask yourself if you approve of you. Ask yourself if you are proud of you. Start asking the person that can change your life completely. Start looking for approval from the person that will always be able to support, love and help you grow towards your ideal self, your highest self. Then release others of the responsibility that truly isn't yours to begin with, validation. The freedom that comes with taking care of oneself and understanding that others are here to do the same allows love to flow freely, life to blossom fully, and you (and everyone else) to truly be happy.
