What's Good??? 1.7.14

Good Morning!!! Tuesday Gratitude Practice is here!!! How will you take what you are grateful for through the rest of your day? This isn't just about writing it down and sending it back… put it out there! Let the world feel your appreciation! Let's make a difference.

This only takes a few moments to do but gives to you for much, much longer. So put down whatever you are doing and take a couple of minutes for yourself. Every Tuesday morning I am going to ask you to write down 5 things that you are grateful for and email them to me (keep for yourself as well). What are you feeling gratitude around? Here are mine for this week:

My clients.
2014.
Clear Skies.
Cloudy Skies.
The color orange & my 2nd Chakra.

There are no right or wrong answers. It is about what you are grateful for. It is proven that doing this once a week makes you happier, healthier, exercise more and less sensitive to perceived slights. You will sweat the small stuff less and focus on what really matters.

So… what are you waiting for???

Food for thought:

What is your work here? What are you meant to do? What calls to you and how do you answer? Now if you are smiling while reading these questions that means you feel that you can answer them with ease. On the contrary, if you got a bit stressed or annoyed with those questions it may mean that you aren't sure of the answers. It can be a lot of pressure to have to know what you don't know. Actually, by it's very nature, what is not known cannot be known… otherwise it would be known, which would take away its "unknown" status. If you want to begin to know, it is always more productive to own what you do and what you do not, without judgment. Taking away the judgment is like taking off a heavy blanket in 98˚ weather… you can finally breathe. Taking away the judgment also allows room for a deep knowing to surface… but I digress.

Instead of being flowery and hinting toward the answer to the questions above I will just let you know… regardless of your occupation, your calling, your work is and always will be YOU. There are many ways to get to one place, usually, and we use all ways and means to reach ourselves. We use our work, our lovers, our stories, our friends, our ideas to reach our truth, our love, our ideas, our world. You have experienced this, we all have; the moment, as Oprah coined it, that "aha" moment. We are helping someone else, listening to someone tell their story, supporting someone on their journey, and suddenly WE make sense. Something in us is understood by us. Everyone is on a mission to figure out who, what and how they are. Knowing that this is your actual purpose brings so much more reverence to every situation. You begin to expect to learn something from everyone and everything. You realize that in everyone you are… somewhere you are there to be found.

Discovering yourself in another person, place or thing isn't about looking for what you recognize in that other thing; that would be you just seeing the known in the known. You are looking for the revelation, the understanding of what wasn't understood before. That comes when you let go of what you think you know and start seeing things as possibility, discovery and divinity all at once. It also helps to remember that everything in the universe is conspiring to help you achieve knowing. It takes practice to get your work done, luckily that is what life is. Welcome to your work.
