What's Good??? 2.11.14
Happy Tuesday!!! Gratitude Practice is here!!! How will you take what you are grateful for through the rest of your day? This isn't just about writing it down and sending it back… put it out there! Let the world feel your appreciation! Let's make a difference.
This only takes a few moments to do but gives to you for much, much longer. So put down whatever you are doing and take a couple of minutes for yourself. Every Tuesday morning I am going to ask you to write down 5 things that you are grateful for and email them to me (keep for yourself as well). What are you feeling gratitude around? Here are mine for this week:
Apple Genius Bar.
Butter Rum Life Savers.
Crazy Dreams.
Kim Russo the Psychic Medium.
Sweat and Helping Others Sweat.
There are no right or wrong answers. It is about what you are grateful for. It is proven that doing this once a week makes you happier, healthier, exercise more and less sensitive to perceived slights. You will sweat the small stuff less and focus on what really matters.
So… what are you waiting for???
Food for thought:
"There is no substitute for hard work…except harder work." ~Unknown (by me)
There is nothing that will get you where you want to go better than hard work… honestly. There is no way to understand the discipline that comes with getting things done until you simply get things done, especially when it comes to your soul, your mind, your body. You can think about it, you can talk about it, you can philosophize on it but until you actually put in the day in, day out work it takes to do something great you cannot know what it takes. To tell you the truth, it is worth every single moment to practice, to focus, to be determined and to not give up. You learn so much about you, the world and your filters when you go for it. You also get some amazing side effects from working hard that just support and enhance whatever skill(s) you have perfected.
The best thing about focusing on your health or well being is that you have a solid grip on your health and well being. The next best thing is more like the next best things. There are so many positive side effects to putting an unrelenting focus on your mind, body and soul such as, confidence, energy, happiness, emotional health, balance, perspective, coping skills, positive self talk abilities, strength, pride, problem solving abilities, hope and more. When you constantly go farther than what you did the day before you begin to recognize that you are limitless. When you have a consistent demonstration of your ability to improve you feel pretty hopeful on a regular basis. I am not saying you cannot feel all of these things without the riggers of dedicating yourself to a practice, I am saying that the level you feel these things will be different. It is the difference between being in your body when you are sick and thinking that it is the norm until one day you are healthy and having that comparison. There are so many more opportunities in your life when you are vibrating on a higher level than your present state. No amount of wanting it will give it to you… the realization is in the doing.
What does this mean? Well, it means get your ass in gear and commit. Do something that will push you farther and do it daily. Stop letting mediocrity be your mantra, stop saying that half-assed is better than no-assed. Stop talking about what could happen if you did blah blah blah and just quietly get moving, get going and get doing. It means you can just save the excuses for those who aren't in support of your dedication when you cancel plans with them instead of the other way around. It means that you can breathe into your becoming and your being knowing that putting effort into both reaps the most rewards for you and those you love. It means that anything is possible if you just get it done.
