What’s Good???

Happy Tuesday!!! Gratitude Practice is here!!! How will you take what you are grateful for through the rest of your day? This isn’t just about writing it down and sending it back… put it out there! Let the world feel your appreciation! Let’s make a difference.

This only takes a few moments to do but gives to you for much, much longer. So put down whatever you are doing and take a couple of minutes for yourself. Every Tuesday morning I am going to ask you to write down 5 things that you are grateful for and email them to me (keep for yourself as well). What are you feeling gratitude around? Here are mine for this week:

Quiet Mornings.
A Walk-In Closet.
My Memory.
My Health.
My Creativity.

There are no right or wrong answers. It is about what you are grateful for. It is proven that doing this once a week makes you happier, healthier, exercise more and less sensitive to perceived slights. You will sweat the small stuff less and focus on what really matters.

So… what are you waiting for???

Relationships are the motivation for life… we cannot live without one another. Babies die without touch. Love and connection truly are all that matter. So when our relationships are broken, abusive or not what we want them to be it takes over our lives. Any struggle we have in our relationships shape our world completely, the same with any joy. The quality of our lives is determined by how we relate to one another and ourselves. When our relationships aren’t supportive of a healthy, happy, loving life we are charged to make some important changes in order to find peace and fulfillment.

The purpose, the benefit, and the pain or joy of all relationships is to teach you about you. Relationships are necessary for growth; and all growth is evidence of life. When your relationships are less amazing than you desire them to be, you have been given information. When your relationships are fulfilling you have been given information. How you interpret that information is really the secret; So many of us never figure out the why of relationships and those who do often don’t know how to change what is needed to change in order to stop repeating the kinds of relationships that hurt them. Learning is tedious, arduous and often seemingly impossible for many. Never fear, however, it isn’t truly that deep yet it permeates all levels of existence which has no bottom and no top.

Compassion. Love. Acceptance. Connectedness. As above, so below. All things done in the heavens are done on land. All things done to another soul are done to yours. All relationships are a part of you, are you, reflect you. When you are dumped by an asshole and want to vilify her behavior remember that you allowed a lot of things to be acceptable and more than likely you were giving way more than you were comfortable giving (with no reciprocation). When you are in a job where you are giving and not receiving, you are doing the same in your personal life and ego is most often the real issue; wanting praise, wanting martyrdom. When you find yourself in relationships where you aren’t being supported, where are you not supporting yourself or others? In order to stop the patterns of abuse, of neglect in your relationships, you have to become an advocate for yourself.

We don’t get handed a manual when we are born, “A Guide To Being a Soul with a Body” though I am tempted to write one. If we did the first thing I would want you to know is that all of what you see is an illusion. You are not separate from another. You aren’t an individual. You are a part of a collective, you are a part of one broken into many and continuing to fraction off… fractals with no beginning and no ending, regardless of the Big Bang idea. You bring about other things, other begins whether or not you can put your finger on each and every affected person, place or thing. It is this oneness that makes relationships simple, ultimately. Be loving, be kind always. First to yourself and the rest will follow.
