What’s Good???

Happy Tuesday!!! Gratitude Practice is here!!! How will you take what you are grateful for through the rest of your day? This isn’t just about writing it down and sending it back… put it out there! Let the world feel your appreciation! Let’s make a difference.

This only takes a few moments to do but gives to you for much, much longer. So put down whatever you are doing and take a couple of minutes for yourself. Every Tuesday morning I am going to ask you to write down 5 things that you are grateful for and email them to me (keep for yourself as well). What are you feeling gratitude around? Here are mine for this week:

Art, all forms.
Difficult Conversations.
Progress.
Hypnosis.
Sunshine.

There are no right or wrong answers. It is about what you are grateful for. It is proven that doing this once a week makes you happier, healthier, exercise more and less sensitive to perceived slights. You will sweat the small stuff less and focus on what really matters.

So… what are you waiting for???

Food for thought:

Do you have something happening in your life that requires a ton of attention?  Most of us do.  Most of us are struggling or challenged around something that we just cannot seem to shake, shift or move away from.  Life requires us to live; sometimes we are clean and clear on our choices during this life and can see the beginning to the now of a situation.  Other times we are jumbled and rushed and the beginnings of where we are now can get lost in the details, the years, the moments long gone.  So often we try to blame things that are pretty recent in our lives for where we are presently; sometimes we blame the distant past.  We are always (if we are blaming something) wrong going in that direction and most likely will end up exactly where we are hoping to get away from, at a later date.  When we refuse to see gratitude in where we are, even the shitty spots, and recognize that nothing is separate and all things lead up to this now, this moment we might stop resisting where we are long enough to move on from it.

When you find yourself saying the same things, over and over and over… or your friends reflect back to you that you have been struggling with the same question and they are no closer to a solution for you than you seem to be it may be time to do something new, something you haven’t done.  Wait.  Wait until something comes to you.  Make no decisions until you feel like you can.  Stop bitching, complaining, discussing, lamenting… wait and be still.  See how that shakes something new out of you.  Meditate, breathe, go deeper within yourself… change your focus.  See how that plays out; and it will play out.  Something will happen.  You cannot be here for any amount of time and NOT experience growth, change, transformation.  Sometimes we push so hard for an answer and we fail to understand that all things come in their own time and we are not in control of when that is.

When you choose patience with the knowledge and belief that you will get what you need, that your answers will come to you a lot speedier than when you push, manipulate, bitch and moan.  You will get to where you are going (wherever that is) with less turbulence when you embrace where you are and breathe into it, with the understanding that it is going to change.  Let go of regret (waste of time, like the biggest), let go of imagining that you did the wrong thing and that you won’t ever struggle or hate a moment in your life again.  You are human, you are learning, you are ready for what is next whether you think so or not.  The more you open yourself to being ready ( and prepping for it by being in each moment; staying present) the more you handle all things with ease and grace and the less attention your “struggles” will require of you.
